Cast Polyurethane Tubes
Custom urethane tube blanks and tubular components
Specify a cast polyurethane tube around the part you need to make. Willsup reviews inside diameter, outside diameter, length and material requirements for tubular wear components, replacement bushings and machining blanks. Send a drawing or sample to discuss your project.

A urethane tube for a component, not just a nominal size
A tube can be the starting blank for a bushing, spacer, protective sleeve or annular part. Define the final component first: what fits inside the bore, what contacts the outside surface and whether the tube will be cut into shorter pieces or finish-machined. This helps establish the required geometry and manufacturing allowance.
This page concerns cast tubular components and blanks. Flexible pneumatic hose has different pressure, fitting and tubing requirements and should not be selected from a cast-part specification.
Inside diameter, outside diameter and wall thickness
Provide ID, OD and length in millimetres or inches, with the units clearly identified. For a concentric tube, nominal wall thickness is (OD − ID) ÷ 2; that relationship does not specify concentricity or dimensional tolerance. Mark the critical fits on the drawing and distinguish molded dimensions from final machined dimensions.
| Input | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Bore | Inside diameter, mating part and fit requirement |
| Outside surface | Outside diameter, contact surface and finish |
| Length | Supplied length, cut lengths and end finish |
| Service | Load, movement, temperature and chemical exposure |
Tube blank or finished bushing?
A blank leaves finishing operations to your shop. A finished component includes the agreed bore, outside profile and end geometry. If dimensional fit is critical, request the finished-part option and provide the mating dimensions. An existing worn tube can help identify the shape, but wear measurements alone may not establish the original fit.
Choose the formulation for the actual contact
Tell us whether the tube works under sliding contact, compression, intermittent impact or rotation. Hardness alone does not establish wear life or load capacity. Include exposure to oils, water, cleaning agents and temperature, plus any requirements for product marking or surface finish.
For a separate cover fitted over a conveyor roller, see polyurethane roller sleeves. For solid rectangular blanks, explore polyurethane bar stock.
What to include in your tube enquiry
Send the drawing, required quantity, target date and delivery location. Identify whether you need a blank or finished part, and attach photographs of the existing component where useful. Dimensions, formulation availability, tooling and production schedule are confirmed for the project rather than assumed to be standard stock.

Common questions
-
Can I order a custom ID and OD?
Send both dimensions, the length and fit requirements. Feasibility and tolerances are reviewed for the geometry and formulation before a quote is confirmed. -
Are these tubes suitable for pneumatic lines?
This offer concerns cast polyurethane components and blanks. Pressure tubing requires its own specification and compatibility review. -
Can the tube be supplied as finished rings?
Include the finished ring drawing and quantity in the enquiry. Cutting and finishing requirements are evaluated with the manufacturing plan. -
Do you have standard sizes in stock?
Ask for current availability. Dimensions, quantities and lead times are confirmed in the quotation; this page does not represent a live stock list.
Ready to spec your part?
Tell us your load, size, and operating conditions and we will recommend the right formulation.
