Specify bar stock around the finished part
Polyurethane bar stock is a solid section used as a blank or contact component. A square bar has equal section dimensions; a rectangular bar has a different width and thickness. State all three dimensions and identify which faces will contact the equipment or conveyed product.
When buying a blank, include the machining allowance your process requires. When buying a finished strip or pad, supply the final dimensions and tolerances instead. This distinction helps avoid an undersized blank or unnecessary finishing work.

Wear strips, contact pads and custom profiles
A straight bar can provide material for a wear strip, spacing component or protective contact pad. Tooling and pressure-pad projects need the contact geometry and loading conditions reviewed as well. Describe the motion, mounting method and wear pattern rather than specifying polyurethane solely by colour or hardness.

As-cast blanks or machined components
Choose the supply stage that fits your production process. An as-cast blank is reviewed against its agreed supplied dimensions; a machined component is finished to the drawing requirements included in the quotation. Send the CAD file or dimensioned drawing, quantity and target date so tooling and finishing can be assessed together.
Material selection and repeat orders
Provide the contact load, operating temperature, chemicals and expected movement. Once a project specification is agreed, keep its drawing revision and material reference with repeat orders. A nominal Shore hardness alone may not identify the original compound.
Stock availability, maximum sizes and production quantities are confirmed with your quote. No standard length or immediate availability is implied by the term bar stock.
